Seal of Approval for KYCs Season Opener!

Return to racing at KYC on Sunday saw nine open class boats and three scows braving a cool southeasterly breeze. The session was run by Tim, Sharon and Claire, featuring five "quick-fire" 3-2-1 starts followed by a short windward-leeward race to get everyone warmed up for the season.

A bit of jury-rigging was required to get at least one boat out on the water, but the fleet soon got underway! On support boats we had Neil, Tim and Andy, led by Janet.

The start videos posted on the Racing WhatsApp group show a clear improvement through the five starts across both fleets well done to all the racers. Our resident seal even made an appearance, watching the final race home from the Hawkers Lake island.

Lunch and drinks organised by Graeme were very welcome as the racers returned ashore.

Now we have the Race Training Sunday session to look forward to in a couple of weeks.
